The DepEd Schools Division Office of Meycauayan joins the global celebration of National Women’s Month in March 2023 by supporting the cause of gender equality and an inclusive society. Under the banner of “WE for gender equality and an inclusive society,” the SDO Meycauayan and all public elementary and secondary schools are dedicated to establishing a secure and equitable learning environment that empowers everyone, regardless of gender identification.

Every year, the National Women’s Month is celebrated to commemorate the contributions of women to society and highlights the necessity of gender equality. The topic for this year emphasizes the value of group efforts in building a more inclusive society where everyone is treated equally regardless of gender, race, or religion.

The SDO City of Meycauayan agrees that education is the first step in advancing gender equality. To assist the overall development of students, teachers, and staff, the Schools Division of Meycauayan is committed to making sure that all schools implement gender-responsive policies and programs.

In honor of National Women’s Month, a number of events are conducted in SDO Meycauayan that advance gender equality and an inclusive society in collaboration with all public elementary and secondary schools. These programs focus on various facets of gender equality, such as women’s rights, and gender sensitivity. This includes an in-person activity that honor the contributions of women in education, and school-based programs.

The public schools and the SDO City of Meycauayan also incorporate gender-responsive pedagogy into their curricula to ensure that all students comprehend the significance of gender equality and the part they can play in advancing it.

Schools assess their procedures and policies to make sure that they are gender responsive as part of the National Women’s Month celebration. This entails a review of their child protection policies to make sure that they are considerate of the requirements of pupils of all genders and that they have procedures in place to deal with any instances of discrimination or violence based on gender.

The SDO City of Meycauayan and all public elementary and secondary schools understand that advancing gender equality is an ongoing project that calls for consistent work and dedication from all parties involved. So, the National Women’s Month celebration this year is just the start of a larger and more ongoing movement to advance gender equality and a culture that values all people.
