As a simple student before, my friends keep asking me how difficult it is to be an officer of the Student’s Supreme Government. Well, as a matter of fact, it is a no dream for me to serve my fellow schoolmates.

You know what, among the styles of guiding or directing people since the existence of humankind – and no matter whether we talk of political, academic, or business leadership styles – we may find a straightforward division or classification: Hard and Soft leadership. I want to share some tips in leadership, having in mind these two simple styles. One is the authority of the mind and the other is the leading of the heart.

Being a youth leader requires your courage and acceptance. Your courage in mind will define your direction in making policies that could ensure everyone’s right. No good leader would put the law into his hand. An authoritative leadership for me is all about declaring your will into a good path without stepping the rights of your fellowmen. Respect begets respect. A true leader is a model to his fellowmen. If you want to be respected and your people follow you, then one must know how to listen to their sentiments.

Leadership in the heart for me is the most priceless attitude that a public servant should do. A leader by heart is a leader of fair and equality. If you serve your fellowmen to the extent where you offer your time to respond to their needs. It’s about offering your whole life to them.

As a leader, words are not enough to express how lucky I am to serve. I am very sure that my perspectives in leadership will never change. This will keep my passion and burning desire to serve my fellowmen righteously.
